Lisa Parkisson gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Zac early morning this past Saturday. She was looking forward to taking on her new life milestone as a mom when the unexpected happened: The 35-year-old mother mysteriously died in the post-natal ward only two days after delivering her baby.
Now her family is demanding that the hospital give them answers over the beloved mother's inexplicable death.

According to Parkisson's sister, Ally Ziemniak, the mother went into labor on Friday and after being hospitalized she learned that Zac was a breech baby. A Caeserean section was perfomed and she was left to recover in the neo-natal unit.
Everything seemed fine until her family received a call from the hospital stating that the midwife went in to check in on Parkisson only to find her dead in a pool of blood. Her heartbroken loved ones can't believe that she's gone. "She was so so happy, the happiest we had ever seen her with Zac in her arms. She was beaming. She was saying 'just look at him, he's perfect,' " said her mom Judith Smith.
Right now it's unclear what exactly was the cause of the woman's death, but Smith says that she recalls Parkisson complaining about a headache during the operation. The hospital has issued an apology to the family as they continue to investigate the cause of death and what may have gone wrong on the operating table. Even sadder, the first-time mom would have turned 36 today and would have been celebrating with her new baby.
This is so tragic! I can't believe this poor woman was fine one day and dead the next after a routine procedure. Something must have gone wrong during the surgery that doctors completely overlooked. Perhaps she was allergic to something given to her before or after the C-section, a possibility which is very scary. I'm positive the baby is in great hands but it breaks my heart knowing that he is never going to meet his mother. My thoughts and prayers are with this her family who are mourning the loss of a woman who was looking forward to being a mom and probably would have been a great one.
