What is happening between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck? Are they still together? Are they headed for divorce? All we have to go on is rumors because Bennifer has gone radio silent when it comes to discussing the state of their union. Oh, and now, it’s being reported that the silent treatment extends to each other. As in, they aren’t even speaking to each other anymore.

Say it ain't so, Bennifer! Say anything, please! I know it’s none of my business and that you don’t owe anyone a play-by-play on what is going on between the two of you, but I’m invested. For whatever ridiculous reason, I care. I want you two to live happily ever after, but if that’s not what’s going to happen, I can handle the truth. Give me something other than the following rumors to go on, please.
Divorce rumors have been swirling for months.
I won’t rehash all of it, but it has been noticed by anyone paying attention that Ben has been a no-show for many important events in Jen’s life for the past few months. He didn’t go with her to the Met Gala in May, even though she was a cohost.
They stopped living together and put their joint home on the market. It was reported that Ben moved out of their mansion in June while Jen was on vacation in Europe. They bought the place in June 2023 for around $60 million and they are now trying to sell it for $68 million.
July 16 came and went like it was no big deal, when in reality it was their two-year wedding anniversary. Jennifer was seen enjoying herself in the Hamptons, New York. She even spent time there with Ben’s daughter Violet, but Ben was on the opposite coast of the country.
Ben was nowhere to be seen when Jennifer celebrated turning 55 with a Bridgerton-themed party on July 24 in the Hamptons. Since then, she has returned to the Los Angeles, but hasn’t been spotted wearing her wedding ring. Ben’s also been spotted out and about without his wedding ring.
OK, rings aside, are they still together?
Well, TMZ has sources saying that Jen and Ben aren’t speaking to each other—not in person and not on the phone. I mean, I don’t know how credible these sources are, but that’s what they are saying.
Have they hired lawyers?
TMZ’s sources say that neither one of them have hired lawyers and are instead using their business managers to deal with the financial aspects of splitting up. According to those sources, at some point the couple will have to hire layers to file divorce documents.
Supposedly, they aren’t planning on filing any documents until they’ve reached a settlement between themselves. But how can that happen if they aren’t even talking to each other? They do have a prenup in place, so maybe they won’t have much hashing out to do except for that Beverly Hills mansion they are trying to sell.
Ben and Jen got legally married in July 2022.
This was 20 years after the first time they got engaged in 2002—they called it off in 2003. It felt like a real-life Hollywood rom-com. "We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out that love is patient. Twenty years of patience," Jen shared with fans via her newsletter after her surprise Las Vegas wedding.
Being married isn’t easy and most definitely requires a lot of patience, even when you aren’t a famous couple. Bennifer has always been followed by paparazzi, which I imagine only adds tension to their relationship especially since Ben has always been clear that he is not a fan of their relationship getting so much media attention.
