Rapper Cardi B had admitted that while she is not currently on speaking terms with her soon to be ex-husband, fellow rapper Offset, she still has his back. Cardi filed for divorce from Offset in the middle of September and neither has said much about the end of their marriage publicly. But as the "WAP" rapper's fans have continued to disparage her ex on social media, she spoke out on Thursday on Twitter.
More from MamásLatinas: Inside Cardi B's decision to divorce husband Offset
In the since-deleted tweets, Cardi put fans in their place after one of her followers claimed it was their "right to drag him," making sure they knew that as the father of her daughter, she would not stand for anyone talking trash about Offset, whom she is reportedly divorcing because of repeated infidelities.
Cardi is over it.
It all started when a fan tweeted "We don't like Offset sis and it's our right to drag him when we see fit." But, Cardi wasn't having it and put that fan in her place really fast, pointing out that she couldn't wish harm on the father of her child.
No disrespect.
"I don't talk to him but you not going to disrespect my child father," Cardi who shares 2-year-old daughter, Kulture Kiari, with Offset tweeted. Cardi and Offset were together for years prior to their latest split, so we can also imagine that she still feels some allegiance to him.
Offset will always be Kulture's father.
"I will slap the s— out of you in curtesy of Kulture," Cardi continued in the tweet. "If he die, go broke, you not the one that's going to raise my kid & you not the 1 who pays for her s—," Cardi said.
It's been a rough week on Twitter for Cardi.
Cardi has been getting a ton of flak from followers on Twitter this week after she tweeted in support of an Armenia fundraiser, prompting followers to create the hashtag, #cardibsupportsterrorism, by those who back Azerbaijan in the conflict between the two countries.
Offset was involved as well.
Cardi explained that she promoted the fundraiser because she and Offset had met with a consultant who is Armenian, regarding selling one of their properties, and he asked them if they could post something in support of Armenia. She says she did not know there was a conflict going on and did not intend to choose sides.
Twitter can be overwhelming.
As a public figure and avid tweeter, we're sure Cardi's used to Twitter backlash and that she doesn't let it get to her often, but having to defend herself and her baby daddy twice in the same week, had to be exhausting. She of course, had a point about how if she isn't slamming Offset, no one else should be either and she did apologize for the Armenia issue, so hopefully people will get a grip and lay off of her.
