When it comes to an hourglass figure, the name says it all. Think Sofia Vergara–big bust, big booty, wide hips and a small waist.

Fashion tip: Try sporting pencil skirts. They show off curves while keeping your look classy!

Athletic

Women with athletic shapes tend to have a mostly straight torso, like Eva Longoria's with a teeny, tiny bit of curve at the hips.

Fashion tip: Look for pieces that are going to create the illusion of a curvier body like A-line skirts or peplum dresses.

Pear-shape

Doesn't matter if you're as curvy as Jennifer Lopez or slimmer like Jessica Alba, a pear-shaped figure tends to be bigger on the bottom and tinier on top. This usually means a shapely booty, wider hips, fuller thighs, tiny waist and a smaller bust.

Fashion tip: Form-fitted dresses help show off a pear-shaped figure.

Round shape

Women with round body shapes, like Sara Ramirez, normally have smaller shoulders and hips and also usually have slender (and naturally toned) legs with a slim butt too. Their weight goes to the middle area: tummy and bust.

Fashion tip: Try on outfits that create more shape like wraparound dresses (that are great for concealing a tummy) or a belted numbers that will help cinch in your waist.

Inverted triangle

The inverted triangle shape just means you have a lot more bust than booty, like Chiquis Marin. Your upper body (including boobs, shoulders and back ) tends to be the broadest part of your body, but your waist and torso are tiny and tight.

Fashion tip: Look for pieces that are going to help create balance. A belted dress can create the illusion of an hourglass figure. Boot cut jeans work great too!
