Among the Latin series on Netflix, one of the most controversial is Luis Miguel: The Series because Luis Miquel is famous and therefore knows a lot of famous people, who are depicted in this dramatized version of his life. Even if you aren't a fan of Luis Miguel, it's definitely an interesting watch. The Netflix description reads:

"This series dramatizes the life story of Mexican superstar singer Luis Miguel, who has captivated audiences in Latin America and beyond for decades."

'The House of Flowers' is rated TV-MA.

Imagine that an over-the-top, tongue-in-cheek telenovela had an affair with a dark comedy and had a love child. The House of Flowers would be that love child. It's fun, funny, and full of drama. It also pokes fun at telenovelas while following a telenovela format. The Netflix description reads:

"In this dark comedy, a wealthy matriarch tries to maintain her family's facade of perfection after her husband's mistress exposes their dirty secrets."

'Jenni Rivera: Mariposa de Barrio' is rated TV-MA.

This biographical Spanish series on Netflix is based on the late Jenni Rivera's autobiography, Unbreakable: My Story, My Way. The Netflix description reads:

FYI, this Latin series on Netflix was executive-produced by Salma Hayek. The Netflix description reads:

'Selena: The Series' is rated TV-PG.

OK, here's the deal with this one: You are going to have to suspend your disbelief in order to enjoy this Netflix series, because it is flawed. Christian Serratos, who plays Selena, does not actually look like Selena, and the costumes and wigs leave a lot to be desired. Also, it maybe should have been called The Quintanillas, but it's still interesting to see any depiction of Selena's life. The Netflix description reads:

"Iconic Mexican-American performer Selena rises to fame as she and her family make sacrifices in order to achieve their lifelong dreams."

'Ingobernable' is rated TV-MA.

Oh, you know, it's just Kate del Castillo doing her thing in a suspenseful thriller of a series. The Netflix description reads:

"The first lady of Mexico is a woman of conviction and ideals. But when she loses faith in her husband, she'll need all her strength to uncover the truth."

'Ashley Garcia: Genius in Love' is rated TV-PG.

This is one of the best Netflix series to watch with your kids. Paulina Chávez as genius Ashley Garcia is delightful. The Netflix description reads:

"15-year-old scientist Ashley Garcia explores the great unknown of modern teendom after moving across the country to pursue a career in robotics."

'Jane the Virgin' is rated TV-14.

It's filled with twists, turns, and plenty of plot thickeners, just like any telenovela should be. It's also so much fun to watch. The Netflix description reads:

'Daughter From Another Mother' is rated TV-MA.

This Spanish Netflix series has an interesting concept: Two mothers find out their babies were switched at birth. The Netflix description reads:

'High Seas' is rated TV-MA.

There's glamour, mystery, and murder in this period piece that takes place on a luxury ship. The Netflix description reads:

'Nailed It: Mexico' is rated TV-PG.

This is a great series to watch as a family. It's fun to watch the baking fails, and you also don't mind so much when your kids keep talking over the show like you would with some other series. The Netflix description reads:

'Club de Cuervos' is rated TV-MA.

This clever Mexican drama was actually Netflix's first Spanish-language original series production. The Netflix description reads:

'La Reina del Sur' is rated TV-MA.

Oh, you know, another series with Kate del Castillo playing a badass. The Netflix description reads:

Be warned that watching this Netflix series will make you hungry even if you just ate. The Netflix description reads:

'The Queen of Flow' is rated TV-MA.

This Latin Netflix series is a Colombian novela with a revenge-minded songwriter. The description reads:

'Nicky Jam: El Ganador' is rated TV-MA.

Nicky Jam plays himself in this dramatized version of his life, which made it one of the most watched Netflix series on the streaming platform. The Netflix description reads:

'Perdida' is rated TV-MA.
