The best Netflix series & movies to watch with your kids this weekend

We live in what could be called the golden era of streaming. We have so many viewing choices at our fingertips and that's a great thing. But sometimes too many choices is just too much, especially when all you want to do is relax with your family and watch something you can all enjoy. Scrolling through endless content options gets boring quickly, so we've done the scrolling and the sampling for you and put together a list of the best Netflix series and movies to watch with your family.

'Yes Day' is rated PG.

Imagine saying yes to everything your kids want to do for 24 hours. That's the concept behind this film starring Jennifer Garner, Edgar Ramírez, Jenna Ortega, Julian Lerner, and Everly Carganilla. The only problem is that your kids will want a yes day in their own future after watching this Netflix movie. You've been warned!

'No Good Nick' is rated TV- PG.

Nick is a teenage con artist with a heart. She shows up on a family’s doorstep claiming to be a distant relative, but really, she’s there to exact revenge on them because she’s convinced they are responsible for destroying her life. They’re all in for surprises. There are two seasons available to stream.

'One Day at a Time' is rated TV-PG.

This updated of the classic late '70s, early '80s sitcom is more of a reimagining of the original. It stars Rita Moreno, Justina Machado, Isabella Gomez, and Marcel Ruiz as a Cuban American family living in a small apartment in Los Angeles. It’s funny, fun, and really well executed.

'Anne With an E' is rated TV-PG.

Anne With an E is another Netflix series reimaging of a classic, only this time it’s of the classic 1908 novel Anne of Green Gables, written by Lucy Maud Montgomery. In the Netflix retelling, Anne is an orphan who is navigating life in her new hometown.

'Bigfoot Family' is rated TV-Y7.

Bigfoot is a loving dad who uses fame to fight against an Alaska oil company. He goes missing and his tech-savvy son goes looking for him, and along the way takes on an evil CEO. The running time is about 1 hour 28 minutes.

'Enola Holmes' is rated PG 13.

This is one of the best Netflix movies to watch with your tweens. Enola Holmes, Sherlock Holmes' younger sister, lives a fun and eccentric life with her mother until one day that mother just goes missing. Enola sets off to find her mother, and it becomes abundantly clear that Sherlock is not the only talented detective in the family.

'Waffles and Mochi' is rated TV-Y7.

Waffles and Mochi are two ridiculously cute puppets who travel the world to learn about different foods and cultures. Former first lady Michelle Obama helped develop the series and she also appears in it. It's pretty darned delightful.

'Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events' is rated TV-PG.

The theme song of this Netflix series gives a lot of insight into the show, there are different versions of it. Here's a part of one of the versions:

'Raising Dion' is rated TV-PG.

The show is about a little boy who has superpowers and is trying to figure out how to control them. His mom is doing her best to keep him safe, but there are, conspiracies, mysteries, and dangers to contend with all around.

'The Spy Next Door' is rated PG.

Jackie Chan is an undercover agent who gets asked to babysit his next-door neighbor's three kids. One of the kids ends up downloading a secret code, and it's all danger and mayhem avoidance from there on out.

'Julie and the Phantoms' is rated TV-G.

This is another one of the best Netflix series to watch with your little ones. Julie is a high school student whose mother dies. When Julie loses her mother, she also loses her passion for music until three phantoms show up and re-inspire her to start rocking again. It's three spirits raising her spirits and raising the roof.

'The Willoughbys' is rated PG.

The Willoughby children are wonderful. Their parents, however, are truly awful people who treat the children horribly. The children hatch a plan to rid of their parents by sending them off on a vacation.

'Ashley Garcia: Genius in Love' is rated TV-PG.

Ashley is a teen robot-building genius who goes to live with her Tío Victor and reconnects with an old friend. She might be a genius when it comes to building robots, but she's still a teen who has a lot to learn about having a social life.

'Project Mc²' is rated TV-G.

McKeyla, is a teenage spy. She teams up with other brilliant girls and together they use their tech and science skills to save save the day. There are a total of six season to watch of this Netflix series.

'We Bare Bears' is rated TV-Y.

This will appeal to younger children without driving older children or parents utterly crazy. It's about Grizzly, Panda, and Ice Bear. They are three adopted bear brothers using their instincts to live in a human world.
