That we are superstitious
![php0dx4lk41.jpg php0dx4lk41.jpg](https://mamaslatinas.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/php0dx4lk41.jpg)
Call it superstition if you want, but why should we take chances when we don’t have to? Lighting a vela never hurts when you want something and I don’t put my purse on the floor, which is why I always have money. You think that is a coincidence? Ask your friend’s broke gringa mom who is always putting her bag on the piso to borrow five dollars then.
We think Vicks cures everything

No, we know Vicks has its limits, but we also know that it's cheaper to start off by applying Vicks along with a little “sana, sana colita…” chant before we spend money on going to the doctor.
That we all use a chancla to discipline our kids

That’s so not true, some of us use a cuchara de palo, thank you very much.
That we can never admit when we are wrong
![ph9j0rdfcw1.jpg ph9j0rdfcw1.jpg](https://mamaslatinas.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/ph9j0rdfcw1.jpg)
We can’t argue this one way or another because we’ve never been wrong so there is nothing to admit to.
That we play the martyr
![ph9ah81sco1.jpg ph9ah81sco1.jpg](https://mamaslatinas.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/ph9ah81sco1.jpg)
Please, like we have time to “play” anything. We are too busy cooking, cleaning and taking care of our families to have time to play.
That we’ll do anything for our kids
![phr6lhux6s1.jpg phr6lhux6s1.jpg](https://mamaslatinas.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/phr6lhux6s1.jpg)
I mean we’ll come close to doing anything, but during telenovela hours you best believe our kids know better than to ask us to do anything for them.
That we’re the best cooks
![phug4139mo1.jpg phug4139mo1.jpg](https://mamaslatinas.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/phug4139mo1.jpg)
OK, this stereotype is totally true and even if we’re not that good, our kids end up loving our food because they can taste the love it was made with.
That we are obsessive about sweaters
![phaa1ya7281.jpg phaa1ya7281.jpg](https://mamaslatinas.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/phaa1ya7281.jpg)
What, a mother can’t remind her kid not to go out in 90 degree weather without a sueter por si acaso without being accused of being obsessive? It’s called caring, criticones should try it sometime.
That we’ll call you fat and then force feed you
![ph5ukfxucc1.jpg ph5ukfxucc1.jpg](https://mamaslatinas.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/ph5ukfxucc1.jpg)
Fat people gotta eat too, qué no?
That we never want our children to leave home
![phlcph1r4g1.jpg phlcph1r4g1.jpg](https://mamaslatinas.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/phlcph1r4g1.jpg)
Our kids can totally leave home. We want them to grow and move out and experience the world, we just want them to take us with them.
