The Cuban actress and her beau, Ryan Gosling, hosted an intimate party for their little one and we have all of the details! Let's just say more celebrity parents should follow in their footsteps.

Mendes and Gosling hosted a low-key gathering over the weekend with a guest list that didn't include other celebrities. Instead, the couple welcomed close friends along with the Latina star's sister, Janet, and Gosling's mom, Donna. One of the family members was seen carrying a small homemade chocolate cake. A source told ET, "It was a pretty quiet family affair. There was no music or any sign of other babies or older kids."
Baby Esmeralda was gifted a rocking horse and a bunch of gifts in a Disney bag. I'm sure she got everything a 1-year-old little girl dreams of! Most celebrities turn their child's birthday into a mega blow-out event complete with paparazzi and countless Instagram photos. I love that Mendes and Gosling have committed to keeping Esmeralda's life private and are trying to give her a normal childhood.
