Adamari Lopez is celebrating her 44th birthday today! There are few celebrities that you feel like you know intimately and are friends in your head. The Puerto Rican star is definitely one of those people. Her beautiful spirit shines bright and radiates across the television set. For months, we have followed Lopez's pregnancy and shared her joy of welcoming her daughter Alaïa. She has overcome so many struggles and serves as an inspiration to all of us. She's resilient
The Puerto Rican star has been through her share of life challenges and heartbreaking experiences. She survived cancer and a failed first marriage to singer Luis Fonsi. Her mother Vidalina passed away, and Lopez spoke openly about the pain. She found love again that same year, and got engaged to Toni Costa in 2014. A few months later, she confirmed her first pregnancy. A month before her due date, Lopez's father Luis passed away. Somehow she keeps showing us how to shine your light and stay positive no matter what life throws at you.
She suffered three miscarriages & kept trying
In August 2013, the beautiful host of Un Nuevo Día revealed she suffered several miscarriages. Despite the losses, Lopez and Costa kept trying and finally got pregnant with their angel that same year. "Always looking ahead, because life has no limits. Yours shouldn't either! Adelante," she wrote."
She loves writing to her daughter
Lopez loves writing sweet notes to her daughter Alaïa. I'm sure she'll read them and feel so loved when she gets older. For Mother's Day, Lopez wrote, "Thanks for coming into my life to bring new dreams and illusions. You make me a happy woman. I think about your grandmother Vidalina, and all of the love she gave us, in how she educated us, in her smile…I hope I can give you all of that and so much more."
She loves tracking her daughter's growth
Lopez is just like the rest of us! She loves to track her daughter Alaïa's growth with adorable photos like this one. What 2-month-old do you know with their own Instagram? So cute!
Her baby announcement was sweet
Lopez's pregnancy announcement was the sweetest ever! The couple posted this photo and the Latina mom-to-be wrote the caption, "I have asked God so much to grant me with the blessing of becoming a mother, and because God has perfect timing, the time has come and I am pregnant." We were thrilled for her!
She's open about her fears as a new mom
Since Lopez battled cancer, doctors advised her against getting pregnant. The strong-willed star told them that wasn't a decision they could make for her and she kept trying. Of course, she still had her fears. "I've had moments where I've thought, 'What if I don't have my health forever? Why bring a baby into this world if I can't care for it?'" Her strong desire to become a mother won and she's grateful for it today.
She loves sharing her joy
I love that Adamari isn't a type of celebrity mom that closes herself off and doesn't share the special moments of motherhood with her fans. Instead, Lopez is like an open book. Right after giving birth, she called into Un Nuevo Día and said, "I'm so happy! I want to cover her with kisses and smell her all day." How sweet!
She enjoyed her pregnancy experience
Since Lopez went through so much to get pregnant, she wasn't a mom-to-be that was filled with complaints about carrying her bump. She was thrilled about her little belly and even shared with us exclusively, "My pregnancy is a miracle that I celebrate every single day."
She made sure to have the best ready for her little one
Lopez made sure to hire the best of the best to design her sweet daughter's room. She used white, gold and pink tones for the lavish space and added touches of butterflies as lovely decor. Mami has good taste!

Lopez made sure to incorporate fans all of the way! When she gave birth, she created a hashtag #YaTodosSonTios to honor all of her fans and people that prayed for her beautiful daughter's safe arrival. So cute! What a lovely family.
