At 1:35 a.m. on June 28, Troy Dickerson of Rosenberg, Texas, attached a GoPro camera to his head while driving his pregnant wife, Kristin Dickerson, to a nearby hospital so she could deliver their baby. The expectant father hoped to film every detail of the child's birth–including the frantic moments leading to his delivery–just as he'd done with his first two children: 4-year-old Turner and 2-year-old Tillman. The extremely graphic 10-minute video turned out to be rather eventful–particularly given that his wife was at such an advanced stage of labor that she never even made it into the delivery room, instead giving birth to the child in front of the hospital, just steps away from their vehicle. Can you believe it? You HAVE to see this video though!

Kristin was almost two weeks overdue when her water broke. The couple immediately rushed to the Texas Medical Center but, as can be seen in the graphic video filmed by the expectant father, Kristin was howling in pain and insisting she wouldn't be able to make it to the hospital. By the time Troy pulled up in front of the hospital, his wife informed him that she could feel the baby's head in the cervical canal.
Troy stepped out of the car and screamed for help. Seconds later, Kristin emerged from the passenger's side of the vehicle and stood frozen in place. Though the nearby valet and her husband urged Kristin to sit down on a wheelchair, she knew there was no time to spare and, feeling the baby crowning, she remained standing. In between screams and moans, she asked her husband to catch the baby and, with a couple of pushes, the child practically slipped out of her body. As soon as the baby was delivered, a team of nurses arrived to help the new parents
The newest addition to the Dickerson family, a boy named Truett, arrived at precisely 2:05 a.m., but rather than being born in the hospital, he was born next to the curb in front of the facility. What a story, right?
Kristin, who works as a birth educator, says she's excited that her husband captured the experience on film. Still, I imagine it will be a while before she wants to view the footage and relive what must have been a terrifying ordeal–even if it did have a happy ending.
