Nothing is more inspiring than seeing a person make a decision to change her way of life to lose weight and lead a healthy lifestyle. This is what happened to Daniela "Dani" Franco. The 24-year-old, who hails from Argentina, revealed to me how she managed to lose more than 200 pounds and it's really an amazing story. Dani struggled with her weight since she was a child
Dani had a complicated childhood and started to struggle with her weight since she was 9 years old. She spent a lot of time alone, so she found comfort in food.
She gained a lot of weight
At 17, Dani got pregnant and after giving birth, her weight continued to balloon. At her heaviest, she was 356 pounds.
She continued to be overweight...
"I felt very tired and my entire body hurt, which is why I spent about 90 percent of my day in bed. My husband was the one who did everything while I'd just be in bed," Dani recalls.
What changed everything
Because of all the extra weight she was carrying, Dani wasn't able to care for her son, Nicolas, when he started to develop nocturnal asthma at age 3. As his condition got worse, Dani realized that she wasn't being the best mom she could be if she spent most of her time in bed. So she decided to do something about it …
A great decision
Her son's respiratory illness changed Dani's life and gave her the strength to change and save her life.
She didn't have money to join a gym
Since she didn't have money to join a gym or for surgery , she started to read about nutrition and the importance of eating well. Little by little, Dani started to substitute fast food with healthier options.
She changed her eating habits
Basically, 70 percent of what Dani ate were vegetables, she stopped eating junk food completely, and she started to cook at home.
Her husband also started to lose weight
Albert, Dani's husband, was also overweight–at 22 he was 235 pounds and felt ver unhappy with his body and appearance.
Inspired by Dani
Seeing Dani start to shed her weight made Albert want to do the same. He started prepping his mind for the change and also gave up fast food. He started exercising. In a year and a half, he lost 85 pounds and today he weighs…

This is how Dani and Albert look today–what a change! Thanks to all the positive changes in food and activity, today they feel great, but the best part is that they're teaching their son to eat well and be active.

Dani lost 200 pounds in 16 months and this is how she looks today at 145 pounds.

Dani bought a treadmill and started training between five and six times a week, one hour each time.
