Robbyn Blick was 20 weeks pregnant when she was told she was carrying a baby with trisomy 18, a fatal condition which could mean he'd die in utero. But Baby Zion was actually born alive January 11. Although his parents, Robbyn and Josh, were told to prepare to hold him for just a few minutes, their diminutive fighter held on for much longer than that… Ten long, glorious days and the Blick family was determined to make the best of that miraculous time.

Already the parents of four boys, Robbyn and Josh made every second with Zion count. They not only showered him with love, but they also celebrated his every milestone. Taking him home was one of those amazing moments, as was Zion's first week on earth, which the Blicks celebrated by singing "Happy Birthday" and even blowing out a candle for him.
The family documented each and every day of Zion's short life through photos and a beautiful video (that you can see below) that they shared in social media. While the images are heartbreaking, they're also amazingly powerful because they're able to transmit Zion's will to live and how much he was loved by his parents, brothers and so many others.
"You have brought us all together, and you shine God's glory. I knew you'd be a fighter, and I am so proud of you my son," Robbyn says in the video.
I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to give birth knowing that every minute with you newborn could be the last one. I think I'd be so devastated and scared that I wouldn't know what to do. But the Blicks obviously did and their decision to celebrate their fifth baby boy is one that will stay with me forever.
We all know life is precious, but most of us go about it in a mad rush to get who knows where without realizing what's really important. If anything, Zion's story should help us rethink our priorities…
