The very best way to prevent a hangover is NOT to drink, but we all know that preaching abstinence doesn't seem to stop anyone from having sex drinkin', so let's get real. Let's talk about what to do if you plan on drinking so that you don't wake up the next morning with a monster cruda, 'kay?

Here are five things you can do to get your peda on without getting a cruda the next day
1. Take your vitamins. Alcohol depletes your body of nutrients, so if you take a multivitamin be sure not so skip it on a day you plan on drinking.
2. Eat up before you drink up. Foods with fats in them will help slow down your body's absorption of alcohol. They don't have to be bad fats either, you could have some guacamole or salmon or both.
3. Equal parts water. Have a glass of water for every alcoholic drink you have. I'm telling you, I practice this rule and it TOTALLY works. I'm not a scientist or anything, but I started doing this in my mid-twenties and the only time I've had a hangover is when I forget to follow each drink with a glass of water. I do however pee a lot when I'm drinking.
4. Make a choice. If you are gonna drink beer, stick to beer. If you are gonna drink wine, stick to wine. So on and so forth. Oh and choosing a cocktail that has all different kinds of liquor in it and sticking to that cocktail isn't what I'm talking about. Mixing up different alcohols and chugging like it's 1999 is just asking for trouble.
5. Go for light. If you plan on having more than one drink, but would rather do without a hangover then it's best you stick to light colored alcohols as darker ones contain more cogeners (toxins produced during fermentation) that are believed to help cause hangovers.
