The fountain of youth, according to the legend was a spring that made people who drank from and swam in it instantly young. It's been the inspiration for countless paintings, poems, books and movies through the ages. We are all still searching for it! It turns out that the magical water is available in your local supermarket. Yes, the only way to stop the biological clock and prevent aging is eating healthy. If you want to look and feel young for as long as possible, eat these foods every day.

1. Vitamin B-12: I'm talking shellfish, liver, broccoli, and a LOT of it at that. Ideally, you should eat three to four ounces of these meats and vegetables every day. Cobalamin which is the main component in vitamin B-12 is responsible for your stamina. As we age, we lose energy and that slows us down. A sedentary body ages faster!
2. Omega-3 and fatty acids: Bring forth walnuts, almonds, salmon, sardines and kale to keep the brain and memory young. You should combine all these foods in your diet and eat them every day for meals and snacks. You should also take fish oil supplements. A healthy mind is a younger mind!
3. Soy: To combat winkles and help you flaunt overall smooth skin. The winners are edamame and tofu! Eating four ounces of soy a day will dramatically improve the texture of your face.
4. Carotenoids: When it comes to veggies and fruits, the brighter the better! Tomatoes, peaches, spinach etc… Eat lots of these veggies and fruits every day in salads or smoothies to keep your body's skin tone even and firm.
5. Fiber: For the digestive system! You can't feel or stay young if your digestions is sluggish. Make sure to eat twenty grams of fiber a day from whole-grains, artichokes, apples and other foods to keep your digestive system and metabolism running smoothly.
6. Flavanoids: What? I mean, dark chocolate! You should eat at least three ounces of dark chocolate a day to help you stay young. Dark chocolate helps protect the skin from UV rays. Dark chocolate has anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce redness and puffiness in the skin.
Try to include a lot of these foods on your weekly diet so you can trick age and look younger longer. Also remember to drink lots of water and get enough sleep. They don't call it beauty sleep for nothin'.
