My uterus, ovaries and va-jay-jay are freaking out right now. Why? Oh, because I found out that some scientists in Finland may have found a way to reduce a woman's risk for cancer. Now, I don't know about you, but I HATE cancer, I don't want to have anything to do with it. I want to keep it as far away as possible. I'm thinking, Okay Finnish scientists, what do I have to do to lower my risk of cancer? Tell me, so that I can do it and then tell my ladies over at MamásLatinas all about it so they can do it too. Are you ready for this possible cancer reduction option? Drum roll, please and remember once I tell you, your uterus, ovaries and va-jay-jay may start to freak out.

Well, researchers examined the cancer risk of almost 5,000 women who gave birth at least 10 times before 2010 and it appears that they have a significantly lower rate of cancer than the general population.
Are you kidding me with this? I had no idea so many women in Finland were popping out 10 or more babies. The explanation has to do with a reduction in breast and gynecological cancers for these women. The researchers believe it may have to do with these women having kids at an earlier age, which is known to decrease breast cancer rates and also because being pregnant haults your ovulation, which reduces the risk of ovarian and endometrial cancers.
Blah, blah, blah. Bunch of scientific mumbo jumbo, if you ask me. I think these ladies have a lowered rate of cancer because their bodies are so tired from making babies that they don't have the energy to do anything else.
Oh and before you run out and try to have 10 or more babies, keep in mind that having that many children comes with risks of its own.
