I have a salad spinner and for a while it was collecting dust because even though it works great I felt like it was more effort than it was worth for washing lettuce. But then my salad spinner eyes were opened to all the other things that a salad spinner can be used for and that thing will now be spinning pretty on a regular basis.

Frijoles
I always have cans of beans in my pantry. As much as I like the convenience of having them, I don't like using the liquid they come in. A salad spinner is great for draining and rinsing canned beans.
Seeding canned tomatoes
Some people don't like the seeds in canned tomatoes. If you are one of those people you can break the tomatoes apart with your hands and then give them a few turns in the salad spinner to get the seeds out.
Dough
If you are making dough that needs to rise, you can use just the bowl from the salad spinner to cover your dough instead of plastic wrap. If the bowl is clear, you get the added bonus of being able to see what's going on with your dough.
Pasta
Let's say you are making a yummy pasta salad and want to get the the water off your pasta as efficiently as possible, give it a whirl in the ol' salad spinner!
Spices
Salad spinners are perfect for washing and drying fresh herbs and spices.
Flan, cake or pie cover
Got a flan, cake or pie that needs covering? Yup, flip the bowl from your salad spinner and use it to cover up that dessert and keep it fresh.
Diaper washing
If you use cloth diapers, you can use your salad spinner to wring out the soakers after hand washing.
Chonies
All those delicate chonies that you are supposed to be washing by hand, you can use your salad spinner to wash them and spin the water out of them too. Brilliant and quite possibly my favorite use for a salad spinner.
Bathing suit
Instead of trying to squeeze the water out of your bathing suit or having then drip, drip, drip dry, you can use a salad spinner to get the excess water out.
Spin art
If you know you are not going to use that salad spinner for food purposes, why not let your kids use it to make spin art? A few drops of paint in your salad spinner can turn into a lovely craft on paper.
