Remember when those pictures of Kim Kardashian showing off cellulite during a private beach vacation surfaced on the internet? Apparently she really freaked out when she saw them. In a recent episode of Keeping Up with The Kardashians, Kim practically loses her mind after seeing paparrazi photos of her butt, which she claims do not resemble how she actually looks. Right.
More from MamásLatinas: Jennifer Lopez steps out in an emerald green dress that LOVES her butt & you have to see it!
In the clip, Kim is seen sunbathing with her friends on her private vacation. "Oh my god, someone got us walking on the beach," her friend says while staring at her phone. She passes the phone to Kim who appears mortified after looking at the photos.

"F*ck. I don't get it! I literally don't look like this!" Kim said upset.
"I'm already having this anxiety attack over security and I'm already just on high alert and now paparazzi has found us. It's like just the scrutiny we get all the time, we try to avoid that. So I thought okay I'm going on this private vacation, not posting and doing all this stuff to try to be as private and discreet as possible. Then you take pictures and if they're not perfect, people […] body-shame you and criticize you. For people to just think that's okay is so frustrating."
Kim goes on to untag herself in all the pictures. But what's especially interesting about all this is the fact that Kim claims she doesn't actually look like those photos that were released, and I honestly don't believe her.
"I saw these awful photos of myself when I was on a trip in Mexico and people were Photoshopping them and sharpening them, and they're the worst photos," Kim had said on The View. "I definitely was not in my best shape. I hadn't worked out in about twelve weeks, I'd had two surgeries on my uterus. We documented that on the show. But I was already not feeling like myself and then when people were sharpening them and making them look way worse, and then those were going around, I was like, 'Okay, I'm going to get it together,' and I started working out with this bodybuilder girl."
Listen, body-shaming sucks. I get it. Noo one has the right to be criticizing anyone's body like that.
But the fact that Kim emphasized how she wasn't in her best shape, hadn't worked out in twelve weeks, AND was inspired to hire a bodybuilder trainer after the photos were released, suggests to me that these photos probably weren't edited. She had developed some cellulite on her booty and that's okay. That's totally normal. Maybe they were more apparent in the photos than IRL. That happens sometimes. Photos have a way of not always portraying us in our best light.
But what upsets me is the fact that Kim is so determined to convince us all that she's physically perfect, that she had to get us to believe that the photos were sharpened and overemphasized to make her look worse. Come on, Kim!
The other reason why I don't believe Kim, is because she really didn't look that bad. Seriously, who hasn't seen cellulite before? It's a totally normal thing to develop and we really need to stop looking at it like it's a bad thing.
This could have been a good opportunity for Kim to turn all that shaming into something positive. She could have used this to not only let her fans know that she's not perfect. I have cellulite too! But to shed a light on the dangers of body-shamers and how this kind of behavior is not okay.
Had Kim said something like: "Yea, that's me and I'm beautiful and strong– cellulite and all," this could have had been an entirely different conversation. Just think about all the young women and girls struggling with body insecurities that could have been inspired by that message.
Earlier this year Hillary Duff shared a bathing suit picture of her backside, revealing cellulite and wrote the most powerful caption for it.

"Since websites and magazines love to share 'celeb flaws' – well I have them!" Duff wrote. "My body has given me the greatest gift of my life: Luca, 5 years ago. I'm turning 30 in September and my body is healthy and gets me where I need to go. Ladies, lets be proud of what we've got and stop wasting precious time in the day wishing we were different, better, and unflawed."
See, Kim had an opportunity to do something like that. She just chose not to take it.
