People are outraged for the way Victoria’s Secret styled this black model’s hair

We've come a long way when it comes to embracing diverse beauty in mainstream media. But recent Victoria's Secret online store pics proves we still have a long way to go, especially when it comes to representation of women of color. Black Twitter is calling out the lingerie brand for failing to properly style a black model's hair and it's a bigger problem than you'd think.

Twitter user @ColourMeCrowned was not happy when she noticed the lack of styling done to black model Zuri Tibby's hair. She believes the brand did a poor job and so do a lot of folks.

Brands might be trying to incorporate more women of color in their ads and campaigns these days, but the work shouldn't stop there. If you're photographing a woman of color with brown skin you need to have makeup artists on set that know how to work with her skin's tone and that have plenty of makeup products available to match her shade. You need to have stylists that know how to work with ethnic hair whether it be curly or relaxed. You also need to make sure there's proper lighting that flatters their skin tones because the kind of lighting that might work on a lighter person may not work on a woman with tan or darker skin. I'm just saying.

I'm not going to bash Victoria's Secret for this because it wasn't the worst mistake we've seen. But it's important that they recognize the need for them to do better because WOC deserve much better than this.
