You'd be surprised at the things I'm willing to do all in the name of beautiful, clear skin. Just a few weeks ago I started experimenting with DIY remedies to help banish my acne. I tried an all-natural, oatmeal and honey facial mask that worked wonders. It got rid of my breakouts and left me with a smooth and radiant complexion. That's when I decided to do a little more digging into the beauty benefits of honey. A few Google searches later, I stumbled upon some information regarding the new honey cleansing trend. What's honey cleansing, you may ask?

Remember a while back when I told you about oil cleansing? You know, that beauty movement that involves ditching your traditional cleanser and washing your face with a natural oil, like coconut oil, almond oil or olive oil? As effective as it might be, it didn't exactly work out so great for me. While it might banish pimples and blemishes for most chicks, it actually made me break out worse than ever before. So when I saw how well my oatmeal, honey facial mask cleared up my skin, I figured it was time to give the whole honey cleansing trend a serious shot. I did, and let me tell you girl–it's awesome!
Not only did it leave my face clean and soft but it surprisingly fought off acne too. Makes sense considering honey's anti-microbial qualities. Still not convinced? Here are 5 reasons why you should be washing your face with honey!
It deeply hydrates: As sticky and gooey as honey may feel, it's also incredibly hydrating. I tried washing my face one time with this stuff and was pretty impressed at how soft my skin felt. Just rub it all over your face, rinse off with lukewarm water and let it do it's magic!
It clears skin: Honey is a natural antibacterial that helps fight bacteria and brings down inflammation. You can do an at-home facial using honey, oatmeal and lemons. But I find washing my face with honey is effective enough.
It gives you a glow: A friend of mine who is allergic to a lot of the chemicals found in most skincare products, only washes her face with all-natural ingredients. After only a week of cleansing with acne her skin was glowing!
It won't clog pores: The first time I cleansed with honey I was practically cringing. I swore I could feel my pores clogging up, but that was all in my head. The honey actually cleansed my skin thoroughly and made my pores appear smaller. Pretty amazing, no?
You don't need a wash cloth: You're not going to believe me when I tell you this, but as sticky as honey is, it's actually not that hard to wash off. I rinsed it out with some lukewarm water–no problem! It came right out without the help of a wash cloth.
