Peppermint tea can help you shed the weight FAST

Minty treats are undoubtedly beloved–from mint chocolate chip ice cream to peppermint mocha lattes, candy canes and peppermint patties–that herbacious flavor pops up in goodies all year long. It's delicious and refreshing, but most of the time, it's paired with calorie-laden chocolate and sweeteners. Not exactly ideal if you're trying to drop a few pounds, so it might be a surprise you that one peppermint drink can actually help you meet your weight loss goals. Studies have shown that the strong aroma of mint can actually suppress your appetite, so if you're feeling peckish or craving something sweet, try sipping on some peppermint tea. It's tasty hot or iced, will keep you hydrated (which also helps avoid over eating), and will serve as a replacement for something less healthy.

On that note, of course your waistline will be better off if you routinely swap unsweetened or lightly sweetened peppermint tea for those addicting lattes and milkshakes. And because the flavor is so similar, chances are you won't miss the item you're replacing all that much.

I recall as a kid my mami would make me a cup of hot mint tea to remedy a belly ache, and you know what? She was onto something! Peppermint has proven to be an effective digestive aid, helping food to move through the digestive system faster and more smoothly and relieving gas and bloating.
