Incredible service dog helps disabled mom change baby’s diapers (VIDEO)

Service dogs are generally known to help out people with disabilities, but did you know that some can even help change diapers? It sounds bizarre but for Orca, a golden retriever service dog, this is one of his many duties when helping out his owner Cheryl Alexander. Alexander, of Yorkshire, England, has Reflex Neurovascular Dystrophy and has had Orca's help since 2003. So when she recently had a baby, Orca knew that he would need to lend her a helping hand–even when it came to diaper duty.

Alexander suffers pain from her health condition which sometimes keeps her from bending or doing other tasks. That's where her handy helper, Orca comes in and it turns out that there are few dogs out there who are as well trained to accomplish what he does.

As amazing as they already are, Orca proves that dogs can never seize to surprise us. According to the London Mirror, Orca is trained as a "thinking dog" which means that he's one of the few who accomplished learning commands intended to meet its owner's conventional needs. Apparently, only 75 percent accomplish their training and the rest fail due to their old age or behavioral problems.

Alexander, who is a teacher, became had daughter Lily three months ago and as expected, Orca learned commands necessary to assist her with the baby. Alexander can only praise the dog to the daily and says: "I call him mother's little helper. He's a wonder dog."

He is especially helpful when her husband is away at work and says it's like having third parent. Some of Orca's duties include fetching the changing mat, wipes, and a new diaper, helping take off Lily's onesie and tossing out the used diaper.

And this isn't the first time Orca has been in the news either! He reportedly saved Alexander's life after her wheelchair fell in a ditch and was given a PDSA gold medal for his heroism. He also came to rescue were when he stopped someone from taking money from Alexander after it fell out of her pocket. Amongst his many other talents, he can use the washing machine, operate a light switch, and open the door for guests. Wow! Who needs a husband or babysitter when you have a dog like this?

I'm sure many moms would LOVE to have a pet like Orca that can help them out around the house. Unfortunately, not many of these exist and Alexander can consider herself very lucky to have such a trusty companion. I couldn't be more amazed by this pooch and his many talents. Now, if only my dog could learn how to operate the spin cycle on my washing machine…
