There's not much time between Christmas and New Year's Eve, so if you're a busy mami hoping to make both special, EASY is the name of the game. And since you're probably a little tapped out from all the gift giving, it's a nice bonus that things that are easy are usually affordable as well. Check out these six fantastic and super-simple New Year's Eve decorations that are sure to make your party a festive one.
Clock collection
The best thing about decorating for New Year's with an assortment of clocks? No assembly required! All you have to do is purchase a variety of clocks in different shapes and sizes–which you can probably find easily at any thrift shop–and arrange them together somewhere prominent in your party room. Throw a little glitter around and you're good to go.
Countdown corks
I love this simple New Year's decoration because it combines two elements of the holiday–the countdown and booze. Collect 10 different Champagne (or wine) corks, cut numbers out of cardstock in varying colors and sizes, and insert into slits you've cut into the tops of the corks. Use a star hole puncher on the numbers to make them even more festive.
Glitter pillars
These glittered pillar candles are just so much fun! You can literally make each one in just a few minutes and you only need five things to do it. Simply apply adhesive numbers (pre-made or cut them out from adhesive vinyl or paper), apply craft glue and glitter in small sections until the entire candle is coated and let dry. When it's completely dry, remove the numbers.
Balloon memories
Fill enough balloons with helium to cover the desired area completely, tie balloons with ribbon and attach a photo from the year to the bottom of each ribbon. Then just arrange the balloons in your room of choice to create a faux ceiling of sorts. Even more special if there is at least one photo of every party attendee included.
Sparkly cake topper
What better centerpiece for your New Year's Eve party than a gorgeous cake, especially one made extra special with a sparkly cake topper? This glittery topper is just as simple as it looks. All you need are some sparkly pipe cleaners and your own imagination. You can form them into hearts as seen above, or stars or even the numbers that spell out the new year.
Glitzy glasses
You can do a lot with spray paint and tape, ladies. All you have to do to create the gorgeous high-end looking glasses is cover the area you don't wanted painted with newspaper and tape and spray paint the area you do. Remove the tape and paper when dry, and voilà! These are actually tasteful enough to use all year, so if you don't want to buy new stemware for the project, you really don't have to.
