I don't know what the heck has been going on with my skin lately, but I've been breaking out like a mad woman. I've tried every possible product you could think of and while some have actually helped clear up my acne, they've also left my skin feeling as dry and irritated as sand paper. This fight against adult acne seemed like it was never going to end!

I'm telling you, I've been waking up almost every morning with a new pimple on my face and it's NOT cute. Most of the products I tried wouldn't clear out my breakouts and the ones that did, left my skin so dry, it hurt. I started hydrating my skin with rich moisturizers and natural oils that only triggered more acne. Ugh! I was just about to give up until my sister told me about a DIY oatmeal acne facial mask she does that doesn't just banish breakouts but also calms and soothes skin. I tried it and it actually worked!
You might look a little crazy with all these cooked oats on your face (look how loca I looked in the picture below), but I swear to you it's SO worth it. Oh and make sure you wear a napkin over an old T-shirt or something because things will get a little messy–I guarantee it!
Want clear, soft skin 24/7? Try this amazing oatmeal acne mask and keep your complexion clear all year long!
What you need:
- 1/2 cup of oats
- 2 tablespoon of honey
- 1 squeezed lemon
What to do:
- Start off by boiling half a cup of oatmeal in a cup of water.
- Once the oatmeal thickens, let it cool. I put mine in the freezer for 5 minutes because I have absolutely no patience.
- Transfer the oatmeal to a small bowl and then add the 2 tablespoons of honey and freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Apply it to your face and let it sit for 15-30 minutes.
- Then rinse off with warm water
Doesn't your face feel so smooth and soft? Apply an SPF 35 oil-free, facial cream afterwards to lock in moisture and protect your skin from developing manchas. I recommend doing this at least twice a week for great results!
