You should know that I don't watch Britain's Got Talent, I don't even watch the American version, but when I saw all the buzz being generated by a salsa dance routine put on by Paddy, a 79-year-old woman, and her dance partner Nico, something whispered to my heart that I had to watch it. I'm so glad I listened to that whisper. I kid you not that watching this abuela dance has brought me to tears. I LOVE her. I want to be her when I grow up. You have to see what this woman is capable of because just watching her will make you believe in yourself.

At the start of the routine, you really don't think you are in for much because the dance pair seems mismatched in age and size. The music starts and it's a bit of a snooze-fest with an incredibly slow and unimpressive tango that gives you no clue of the sensationalism that is about to occur.
The camera pans to Simon Cowell yawning and random people in the audience looking quite uninterested. Cowell hits his buzzer to signal that he's over the novelty of seeing an old lady dance with a much younger man and then everything goes "ballistic" in a good way.
The music changes, the dancing duo switch to an uptempo salsa routine full of twists, turns and throws that will make you gasp, cheer and tear up. When it is over, Paddy tells the story of how at this late stage in her life she finds herself dancing up a storm and it is an affirmation to all human beings that life is NOT over until it is over. Age is not an excuse to stop living your dream or stop being exceptional.
Watch and be amazed!
