40 Compound baby names inspired by Latino celebrities

Compound names, sometimes known as hyphenated names, are extremely popular in Latin America. I'm not talking about putting a first name and a middle name together, but rather the kind of names that always go together, such as María José or José Miguel. If you've been thinking about giving your baby a nombre compuesto, here's a list of possibilities that hopefully will help make your search easier.

More from MamásLatinas: 40 Baby names for girls inspired by famous Latin songs

Using Latin celebrities' names as inspiration, here's a list of 40 compound names, 20 for girls and 20 for boys.

On this list, you'll find super popular names like Luis Miguel and Ana María to some that are more obscure that you probably haven't heard like Paola Fabiana, which believe it or not, is Lola Ponce's real name.

The only thing you should keep in mind is that, in the United States, compound names are often shortened, which pretty much means that only the first part of the name is used… just asked anybody who came from Latin America and whose names start with José or María.
