Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are getting ready to welcome their first child–or is it children?! There is plenty of speculation floating around that the royal pair are actually expecting twins, and there are a few reasons behind that theory.

While Kensington Palace confirmed in October that the newlyweds were indeed having a baby in the spring of 2019, they have not addressed the rumor that the Duchess of Sussex is pregnant with more than one baby. A betting company in Ireland named Paddy Power ceased taking bets that the royal couple were having twins after there was a sudden rise in bets from users. So does that mean that someone out there has insider information on this and is spreading the news?
Paddy Power was forced to shut down the bets on Meghan having twins following an "abnormal" surge of wagers.
In a press release sent out on Friday, November 23, they said they were suspending the bets on Meghan having twins. “An unprecedented amount of bets on Meghan and Harry to have twins has forced us to stop taking bets on the market altogether this morning," the spokesperson said in the statement. “Since the day began, the stream of bets has led us to believe that perhaps the punters–or an insider source–knows something more than we do."
People are also taking bets on the baby's possible names and the first choice is heartwarming.
The betters are putting their money on the royal baby to be named after Prince Harry's late mother Princess Diana. Diana has the most bets followed by Arthur. If this twins rumor is true and they have a boy and a girl, it's possible they could still use these names!
Meghan's age can also be a contributing factor to her possibly being pregnant with twins.
Meghan being in her late 30s–she turned 37 in August–might make her more likely to have a multiple pregnancy. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, women older than 35 years are more likely to release two or more eggs during a single menstrual cycle than younger women, making them more likely to become pregnant with multiple babies. Another possible reason the ACOG sites is the use of fertility drugs or treatments like In vitro fertilization, which often cause more than one egg to be released from the ovaries and can result in twins, triplets, or more.
Another theory that is floating around is that the couple is having a girl.
A psychic cat named Phoenix made its prediction that the royal baby is going to be a girl on the British talk show Lorraine. The four-legged psychic chose to eat out of a bowl with a pink flag as opposed to the blue bowl. According to the TV hosts, the cat has yet to get a prediction wrong, so we'll see about this come May 2019!

Harry hasn't been shy about expressing his desire to have a little girl. When asked about the sex of the baby during a royal tour stop in Fiji in October, Us Weekly reported that Prince Harry told some islanders, “Everyone is predicting it’s going to be a girl.” Days prior to that, when one fan in Australia told him they "hope it's a girl," he couldn't contain his excitement and revealed what he's hoping for the same saying, "So do I."
