Sebastian is a timeless name that consistently shows up on lists of popular names throughout Latin America. It's #1 in Puerto Rico and #6 in Colombia, among others.
Dylan
My Puerto Rican mother always loved the name Dylan. She even used it for my brother's middle name 20 years ago. It's actually the #2 name for boys in Puerto Rico right now.
Ian
I have no idea how Ian became popular in Puerto Rico, but it's a beautiful name and it's currently #3 on the island.
Angel
Puerto Rico has clearly experienced some international influences, but the classics still abound. Angel is the #6 name for baby boys.
Luis
Growing up Puerto Rican, I knew a lot of boys named Luis. It's still popular, and sits at a solid #7.
Mateo
Mateo is a popular choice throughout Latin America. It comes in at #1 in Argentina, #2 in Mexico and #4 in Uruguay.
Matias
Matias is #4 in Argentina, and a popular choice in other Latin American countries as well. It's a really handsome name!
Santino
I can't recall ever hearing the name Santino, but it's pretty common throughout Latin America. It's #5 for boys in Uruguay and #10 in Argentina.
Felipe
The meaning of Felipe, lover of horses, is kind of funny. You can still bet it's a great sounding name, and it's #16 in Chile.
Juan Carlos
Bolivia is consistently traditional when it comes to both baby boy and baby girl names. Juan Carlos takes the #2 spot.
Mario
Mario–another classic–takes third place in Bolivia.
Agustin
Chileans love this name! Agustin is #1 for boys and Agustina is #9 for girls.
Benjamin
Benjamin is even more popular in Latin America than it is in the U.S. It ranks #2 in Chile and #3 in Uruguay.
Vicente
The name Vicente, which ranks third in Chile, will always remind me of my great-grandmother who was the only one who called my youngest cousin Vinnie by his whole name.
Alonso
Alonso is #7 in Chile, and it just seems like one of those good, strong Latin names.
Joaquin
Joaquin is the 10th most popular baby boy name in Chile. It truly has timeless appeal.
Gaspar
OMG! Gaspar–#18 in Chile–means treasure. Such a sweet thought for a baby boy.
Renato
In Chile, the 23rd most popular name for a boy is Renato. It sounds so elegant!
Samuel
Samuel is always a good choice for a boy name. Can never have too many little Sammys. It's #2 in Colombia and #23 in the U.S.
Jeronimo
The name Jeronimo ranks fourth for boys in Colombia. It's one of those names that makes you say "what a grown up name for a little baby!"
Emmanuel
Another classic, Emmanuel comes in at #5 in Colombia, but would be pretty unique in the U.S.

I tend to think of it as a surname, but Santiago is exceedingly popular as a name for boys throughout Latin America. It ranks first in Mexico, Colombia and Argentina, and makes the top 20 in several other countries.
Leonardo
The appeal of the name Leonardo which comes in third in Mexico is obvious. Who wouldn't want a little Leo?
Diego
Of course Diego makes the list! It's #5 in Mexico and pops up on popular names lists in many other countries.
Ramon
I have a tio Ramon and a friend Ramon, so I'm not surprised to see it's still popular. It ranks first in Paraguay!
Antonio
Antonio is another name that just never gets tired. It's #4 in Paraguay and makes the lists in other countries as well. It actually breaks the top 200 in the U.S.
Javier
I was surprised to see that Javier doesn't make the top 10 in many countries, but it comes in at a solid eight in Paraguay. It's always been one of my favorites.
Cesar
Cesar shows up on lists of popular boy names throughout Latin America, but it's most impressive showing is in Paraguay, where it's the 10th most popular.
Juan
The ubiquitous Juan just won't quit. It ranks first in Uruguay and Bolivia and second in Paraguay, but makes the top 20 in just about all of Latin America.
Thiago
I absolutely love the name Thiago. It sounds interesting yet traditional at the same time. It's a derivative of Santiago and it's #2 in Uruguay and #9 in Argentina.
Lautaro
Lautaro is one of the only indigenous names that's trending in Latin America. It comes in at #6 for boys in Uruguay and means daring and enterprising.
Hugo
Hugo is an awesome name no matter where you're from. It ranks first for boys in Spain and has been slowly gaining popularity in the U.S.
Izan
Izan is a variant of the English name Ethan and started to become popular in Spain in the 1990s. It currently holds the #16 spot there.
Markel
In Spain's Basque Country, the name Markel is the top baby boy name. It has German origins and means god of war, but I like that it would be unique in the U.S., but you could still use Mark as an easy nickname.
Iker
Iker is the second most popular boy name in Basque Country, and it has deep roots. It comes from the traditional Christian name Visitacion, which commemorates the Feast of the Virgin Mary.
Ander
Ander is the sixth most popular name for boys in Basque Country. It would be a unique take on Anderson or Andrew.
Biel
Biel is the #5 name for boys in Spain's Catalonia region, and it seems like it would be one of those weird but totally cool names in the U.S.
Adria
Adrian has been a popular name in the U.S. for a long time. It currently sits at #58. In Catalonia, the name Adria ranks #19 for boys, and it would be a cool alternative to Adrian.
