Your baby stroller could be putting your child's health at risk. The company Graco has recently announced a baby stroller recall due to posing a potential hazard of causing finger amputation. The risk of harm is caused by folding hinges on the side of the baby stroller, which makes it easy for the baby's fingers to get caught. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has confirmed the recall of over 5 million strollers that were manufactured between 2000 and 2014. Which models are affected? Graco has released details of baby stroller models being recalled. They include Graco and Century brand strollers released between August 1, 2000 and November 19, 2014 with model names Aspen, Breeze, Capri, Cirrus, Glider, Kite, LiteRider, Sierra, Solara, Sterling and TravelMate. All the strollers include the sliding fold lock hinges on the stroller's exterior.
What if you own a recalled product? The company is urging parents to report if you do own a recalled product. Visit GracoBaby.com or call (800) 345-4109 and provide the product's model number, which can be found on the bottom of the stroller towards the back wheels. Once reported, parents will receive a free repair kit that includes covers for the folding hinges.
