11 Celebrities who LOVE to breastfeed

August 1 through 7 is World Breastfeeding Week. The call to action of this week is to "protect, promote and support breastfeeding." Listen, I get that not all people can breastfeed and this is not about shaming someone for bottle feeding, it's about supporting women who are breastfeeding. It may be what some people call the most "natural" thing in the world, but let me tell you it's not easy–especially not when people give you the stink eye for doing it in public, not when they expect you to go hide in shame or heaven forbid feed your child in a bathroom.

Gwen Stefani recently shared this most adorbale picture of herself nursing her 5-month old son Apollo while in Switzerland. And I want to say thank you to Gwen Stefani and all the very public mamis that whip it out and nurse their children proudly and publicly.

I love it when I see any woman famous or not unabashedly nursing in public. I really believe that people need to get used to the sight of women nursing.

Many criticized her statement so she eventually responded by writing on her blog: "My intention in making a comment about the importance of breastfeeding has nothing to do with the law."
