Valentina Belousov is a 29-year-old Russian mother who was caught on closed circuit camera doing what would be unthinkable to most mothers. She was in a train station in Yekaterinburg, Russia when she pushed her 2-month-old baby, who was in a stroller, onto the train tracks. She didn't do it intentionally, it happened because she was having a fight with the baby's father and in the heat of the moment I guess she pushed the stroller and let it go, but then she did nothing. You can actually see the stroller falling off the platform and toppling onto the tracks without either of the parents doing anything. It's crazy.

I am so relieved to tell you that the baby is okay. As terrifying as the footage is, local police say the baby was not harmed. The baby is being kept in the hospital while a decision is made as to where to place him because Belousov is obviously not the best choice at the moment.
After the incident in the train station, social worker Marianne Denisova visited the baby's home and she said, "It looked as if nobody had cleaned in there for years and it was totally unsuitable environment for a young baby to be raised in." Pobre niño.
It turns out that Belousov was taken into protective custody as a child herself because her own mother couldn't take care of her properly. Do you see how history has a tendency to repeat itself? Belousov wants her baby back and according to Denisova, that is a possibility if she cleans up the home and demonstrates that she can provide a safe and caring environment for her child.
Belousov has repeatedly said that she did not intend to hurt her child and she told a local television station, "It just got too much for me, but it took this to make me realize that I needed help and I'm now going to fight for my son."
I hope she does get her act together and is able to be the mother her son needs. She just got a massive do-over. When you see that stroller hit the tracks, I'm pretty sure you will agree with me that it is some kind of miracle that child was not hurt.
