A 26-year-old upstate New York mom is fighting for her life after she was diagnosed with a rare pregnancy-related cancer while prematurely giving birth to her twin daughters.
According to the U.K.'s Daily Mail, Jenna Hinman was only nine weeks away from her due date when she suddenly felt as if she couldn't breathe and had to be rushed to the hospital. Doctors were forced to deliver the baby girls via emergency C-section. That's when they realized the severity of the situation. Hinman didn't have pneumonia as originally suspected; she had a very rare form of cancer called choriocarcinoma.

Soon after her babies' birth, the new mom began having trouble breathing again. She was only able to get a quick glimpse of her newborns before she was placed in a medically induced coma. Sadly, medics say her body is filled with tumors and lesions from the cancer, which started in her placenta.
Now, as a team of both local and international doctors try desperately to save her life, her husband, Army Sergeant Brandon Hinman, is trying to remain hopeful and do everything he can to support his wife and newborn daughters. Thankfully, the little girls, Kinleigh and Azlynn, seem to be thriving, despite weighing just 3 pounds when they were born.

It's heartbreaking and scary that something like this can happen so suddenly– especially at what was supposed to be such a happy and exciting time in this young couple's life. One minute, they were rejoicing at the sight of their twins and the next, this is happening. It's awful and Hinman obviously has a long, hard road in front of her. But hopefully, with the support of her family and the dedication from those doctors, she'll be able to make it through and return to her growing family. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of them.
