Great news in Hollywood today: Penélope Cruz and husband Javier Bardem are expecting their second child together!
The 38-year-old actress and mom of 2-year-old Leo just made the official announcement to Spanish TV station TVE, explaining that the couple was "tremendously happy and excited" to learn of the pregnancy.
She also cited her pregnancy as the reason she will not be attending the Goya Awards (otherwise known as the Oscars of Spain) later this month.
Though she didn't give any further details, Cruz is reportedly is around three months along…which is good timing, considering her sister Monica–who has been very open about using an anonymous sperm donor–is also currently pregnant. Oh my god, how freakin' adorable is that? Now, they can go through at least a few months of the experience together!
Aww, I'm so happy for the two of them! Seriously, they are one of absolute favorite celebrity couples. They just seem so grounded and stable, unlike so many other Hollywood stars. Plus, they are such great and dedicated parents to their son that I have no doubt that they'll be equally as loving to their second child!

I wonder how Leo is taking it? Hopefully, he is really excited to become a big brother! If he is, I doubt we'll hear much about it. I'm honestly surprised that she even bothered to confirm the pregnancy at all as Cruz and Bardem are a notoriously private couple. They didn't even make an official announcement when she was expecting Leo!
Not to get ahead of myself, but I hope this means that they'll also be open about letting everyone know if it's a girl or a boy. I mean, how else can we start predicting baby names?!
Either way, I'm thrilled for the whole family. Congrats to the happy couple!
