After nearly seven years of marriage, Kim Kardashian has reportedly filed for divorce from Kanye West, and while sources are indicating that the divorce is amicable, Kanye's unwillingness to "compromise" is apparently what put the nail in the coffin of their marriage, which has struggled to survive through the rapper's ongoing mental health issues over the past year.

"Although Kim and Kanye have been separated for months, it was still emotional for Kim to actually file for divorce," a source told People. "She spent the weekend taking care of herself and her kids. She is spending time with her mom, sisters and hasn't been working. Everyone is supportive. Kim feels very lucky to be surrounded by her big family."
Neither Kim nor Kanye have officially announced their divorce.
Although news broke on Friday that Kim had officially filed for divorce from Kanye, neither of the celebs have reported the news themselves. However, just three months after Kim celebrated their 10-year anniversary with an Instagram post, she applied to have their marriage dissolved at an office of Los Angeles County Superior Court.
It seems like Kim tried to make it work.
"There is no drama between Kim and Kanye. Kim is mostly just disappointed that they couldn't figure out how to stay married," a source reported to People. "But it takes two people to create a happy marriage," the source said. "Kim has felt Kanye is not willing to do the hard work and compromise."
The kids will come first.
Kim and Kanye share four children and have always appeared to put their happiness and well-being before any drama, and they will seemingly continue to do so. A source reported that they agreed to joint legal and physical custody of the kids. "The parenting plan and split of assets came together quickly, in the past few days," the source said. "Kim and Kanye basically wanted the same thing."
They've already been living separately.
"There's a prenup and we're told neither party is contesting it. In fact, our sources say they are already far along in reaching a property settlement agreement," TMZ reported. It's unsurprising since Kim and Kanye have essentially been living apart for several months already.
Now it's just the formalities.
Despite the fact that Kim has always appeared extremely positive about her marriage, even less than a year ago, posting a sweet photo with the caption, "6 years down; forever to go Until the end," it seems that all that's left for her and Kanye are the legal formalities.
This will be Kim's third divorce.
If they go through with it, this will be Kim's third divorce, which may be an emotional hurdle in and of itself. Kanye, on the other hand, was never married prior to marrying Kim back in May 2014. "They are just not on the same page when it comes to their future as a family," a source told People in January.
