Chiquis Rivera reveals for the first time details of her bleeding ovary & recent health scare

Chiquis Rivera sent fans and her loved ones into panic mode when she had to be rushed to the hospital on Sunday. She experienced pelvic pain that turned out to be a bleeding ovary that required emergency surgery. It all happened hours before she was scheduled to hit the stage at Plaza Monumental de Morelia in Michoacán, Mexico, which forced her team to cancel her show.

Now everyone can breathe a sigh of relief since Chiquis has been dispatched from the hospital. The entertainer was even in good enough spirits to make statements to the media and supporters who were concerned about her well being, and things are looking up.

New details about Chiquis’ health made Sunday’s sudden turn of events make perfect sense.

The doctor who operated on Chiquis explained that she had been diagnosed with endometriosis. It is an incurable disease that can be incredibly painful and lead to infertility. The doctor’s tests confirmed that she needed emergency surgery.

Fortunately, the operation went smoothly and Chiquis is already back in Los Angeles where she will continue her recovery.

Telemundo’s Suelta La Sopa caught up with her at the airport where she shared that she was feeling better but was tired and needed rest.

Chiquis had no idea that she was going to have to deal with a serious health issue while she was getting ready for her show.

The singer had ovarian cyst surgery in the past, but she was still caught by surprise by what happened on Sunday. "It was really scary because I didn’t expect it," Chiquis told Suelta La Sopa. "I was getting ready for my concert and all of this happened. It was obviously something that I didn't see coming. But thank God, I'm doing better. Thank you to everyone who was worried about me."

Chiquis confirmed that she needed surgery because one of her ovaries was bleeding.

"It was an emergency surgery," she said. "It happened at 3:00 a.m. Morelia time. It was an emergency because I was bleeding from one of my ovaries."

The singer also took to social media to give her fans an update.

"I wanted to let you all know that I'm home, thank God," she said on Instagram and thanked them for their support. "For now, the doctor says that the best is to rest. It was an intense surgery, something really serious, and I have to take care of myself. I think it was a wake up call for me.

"But overall, I'm just grateful with God because everything went well," she added. "It could've been worse but thank God we're OK, but now I just have to rest."

Chiquis let her fans in Morelia know that she would be making up for the missed show.

Many of them were furious over the cancellation and screamed "fraud" at her boyfriend Lorenzo Méndez, who was at the convert venue on Sunday, when the crowd was informed that Chiquis was not going to be performing that night. People on the internet began speculating that the medical emergency was a publicity stunt and a cover up for low ticket sales.

Lorenzo has remained at Chiquis' side through it all.
