My 8-year-old daughter and I recently made DIY holiday cards. She's obsessed with those round white disposable makeup sponges you can buy in packs. The last time that we went to the store, I said she couldn't have any she got desperate and said, "But we could use them as stamps to make cards!" So, I bought them and we created these cool cards with them and so can you.

Get your supplies ready.
You'll need:
- Large ink pad(s) in whatever color(s) you like
- Blank cards
- Makeup sponge (those white round squishy ones)
- 2 rolls of washi tape (one should be a thinner width than the other, if you can't find skinny washi, you could always use a permanent marker instead)
- Scissors
- Permanent markers (optional)
- Stickers (optional)
Wait, do you know what washi tape is?
Just in case you are not obsessed with washi tape like I am, it is basically decorative masking tape. You can buy it at craft stores, online, dollar stores and even Target. It's easy to cut and re-positionable, which is great in case you need to move or remove it.
Get ready to stamp!
Once you've got everything you need, take the makeup sponge and place it on your ink pad. Press down on it to make sure that it absorbs ink on the entire surface.
Make the circle part of your ornament.
Press the makeup sponge on the front of a blank card toward the bottom. Ta-da! This is the ball part of your ornament. It's best to let the ink dry completely before moving on to the next step so you don't make smudges.
Add a washi string.
Cut off a strip of the thinner washi tape that will go from the top of the ornament to the top of the card. If you couldn't find thin washi tape, grab a marker and draw a line from the top of the ornament to the top of the card.
Cut a tiny rectangle out of the wider washi tape.
To make the top of the ornament, cut off a small piece of your wider washi tape and tape it right where the "string" and "ornament" meet.
You cold make them in multiple colors.
If you have different colored ink pads, make ornaments in a variety of colors.
Take it to the next level.
The cards look adorable if you leave them as is, but if you're feeling fancy this is when you can bust out the markers and stickers.
Feel free to add some decorations.
I used a silver permanent marker and a sticker to decorate this card with a little Christmas tree. The star on top of the tree is a random sticker my daughters had.
Let your imagination lead the way.
Add snowflakes, phrases or whatever you want to the cards. All that is left to do is decide who to give them to.
