Most women would be in shock and disbelief if they discovered that their baby would be born without eyes. Danielle Davis was told just that while she was pregnant with her baby girl. The 24-year-old English woman was asked if she wanted to terminate her pregnancy after doctors found a cyst growing in the baby's brain. Davis and her partner, Andrew Smith, refused and it was the best decision they could have made. Baby Daisy was born without eyes and will never be able to see, but her parents have a beautiful mission inspired by their brave little girl.

Baby Daisy was born with a rare condition known as anophthalmia, which affects 1 in 250,000 births. The heartbreaking fact is that there's no cure for this condition. While Daisy's parents found out about the brain cyst after their 21-week sonogram, they were never told that their baby would be born without eyes.
Later this month, doctors will operate on baby Daisy and place glass eyes into her sockets. The parents hope to raise awareness of the condition. I can't imagine how devastating and emotional it must have been. Davis is happy she welcomed her daughter into this world regardless of the challenges she faced.
"She is our gorgeous baby and we have no regrets about turning down a termination," she said. What an amazing feeling. I'm sure her daughter feels her mom's love every single day and that's all that really counts.
