Oh my Díos, I discovered a website called Asi Hablamos that every single Latino and Spanish speaker in the United States of America needs to bookmark. I'm totally using the term discovered in the Christopher Columbus sense because other people totally knew about the website before me and all, but still you get my gist. You know how there is Urban Dictionary? I use it all the time like if someone says, "Bye Felicia" and I'm all confused all I have to do is go to the bye Felicia Urban Dictionary definition to find out:
When someone says that they're leaving and you could really care less that they are. Their name then becomes 'felicia,' a random that nobody is sad to see go. They're real name becomes irrelevant because nobody cares what it really is. Instead, they now are 'Felicia.'
And they even give you examples of it used in a sentence. Well, that's exactly what Asi Hablamos is like, but for slang in Spanish. The site is user-generated and tells you everything from what country the slang is from, to what it means along with examples of how to use it.
Let's say for example, you don't know what púchica means. All you have to do is type it in under "Buscar" in Asi Hablamos and the results will show you that it is used in Guatemala and El Salvador and used to express shock.

Do you see what I mean about this being a useful resource? Now, if your kid's teacher who is originally from Guatemala calls to tell you that your kid "se fue de capiuza" you will know what he means.
