Angels come in different shapes and colors and for a little 3-year-old boy born without a face it came in the form of an Australian breast cancer survivor. Fatima Baraka from Melbourne stumbled upon the horrifying story of Yahya El Jabaly from Morocco. The little boy was born with a hole in his face and had no human features. Fatima decided to give him a chance to a normal life by funding a life-changing surgery with renowned surgeon Dr. Tony Holmes.

The incredibly hard to stomach deformity happened during the womb and little Yahya didn't develop a face. He has a hole where his nose should be, has no eyes and can't speak. You have to see the video to understand what I'm talking about and after watching it, you'll never worry about little things in your life again. We are all truly lucky to have healthy, beautiful children who are loved and welcomed by all. The parents of Yahya have to take him out covered with a blanket because his appearance is too scary for many.
Fatima didn't let his look bother her and she is happy to give the boy a chance to have a human face. Right now the little boy's face looks like the poster of a horror film and your heart will be broken when you see it. Dr. Holmes said that the surgery a is very delicate procedure and the boy might not survive, but that's a chance the family is willing to take because they know he is in good hands. The boy is scheduled to have his first surgery in December and Dr. Holmes will bring the two parts of his skull together and reconstruct a nose using the boy's skin.
The surgeon agreed to perform the life-threatening surgery because he thinks everybody has the right to look human and little Yahya certainly doesn't. He is a sweet and happy little boy who deserves to live a normal life. My heart is full of love for Fatima and Dr. Holmes. As a mother, I can only imagine how happy his parents must feel that someone out there cares. I hope everything will go well and we'll get to see Yahya after the surgery smiling, talking and looking like a regular little boy.
