SEE: Latina loses 109 pounds after serious health scare & you have to see her now

Sometimes it takes a serious health scare to get someone to make changes to their diet. For one Mexican American woman from Texas, it took a gallbladder attack and an emergency hospital visit to motivate her to finally lose some weight. She went from 282 pounds to 173 and you absolutely HAVE to see her now!

At just 27 years old, Christina Liendro already weighed around 282 pounds. A typical meal for her consisted of a fatty Mexican dish and a cold beer. After just four months of working in health care, Liendro had a life-altering experience. A gallbladder attack (which she originally thought was a heart attack), sent her straight to the hospital. Almost immediately after she started changing the way she ate, lost 20 pounds and she hasn't looked back since.

Liendro started eliminating greasy, fatty and overly processed foods from her diet, while also cutting back on sugary drinks and only drinks water and green tea now. Then she started incorporated fitness by walking, jogging and working out at home with DVDs. These days she's even able to finish up a three-mile run.

"One of the biggest motivators for me was Instagram," she shared with the Huffington Post. "I follow tons of people who have successfully gotten fit, changed their lifestyles and are struggling with the same issues I am. To feel like you are able to identify with a complete stranger based solely on the fact that you both have weaknesses and want to turn those weaknesses into strengths is so empowering. "

She now weighs 173 pounds and looks better than ever, but she's not stopping there. Liendro is trying to get in top notch shape, but isn't pressuring herself to fit into a size 2. "Initially, I wanted to be 'skinny,' but now I'm working toward 'fit.' My goal isn't a dress size, but instead a feeling–of being healthy, fit and capable," she added.

I still can't believe this woman managed to lose over 100 pounds all on her own. It goes to show that with hard work and dedication, anyone can reach their fitness goals. I'm so impressed!
