WATCH: Brave cat rescues boy from vicious dog attack

Whoever said dogs were braver than cats didn't see the footage of that family cat that saved a young boy from California. The poor kid would have probably had to have his leg amputated if it wasn't for this amazing cat, who rescued him from this vicious dog attacker. Don't believe me? Check out the video for yourself!

This poor kid wasn't bothering a soul. He was simply riding his bike on a driveway in Bakersfield, California when out of nowhere a dog dragged him off his bike and lunged at his leg with its jaw. Within seconds (yes, seconds) his cat came to the rescue pushing the dog off of the boy and them chasing him away before a woman ran to the boy.

The boy's father, Roger Triantafilo was amazed by what had happened and posted a video of the incident on YouTube. "Thankfully, it wasn't worse," he wrote in the video. "My son is fine."

The video even contains some really graphic images of the boy's wounds. I'm talking REALLY graphic. Chances are if that cat wouldn't have appeared on the scene, that dog would have destroyed that poor kid's leg. According to police, the owners of the eight-month-old labrador-chow mix surrendered the dog to police shortly after the attack. It was in quarantine and expected to be put down.

There seems to be no information regarding whether or not the dog had a disease or behavorial issues that could have led to the attack. But the owners who live in the same neighborhood as the boy, told police smokesman Sergeant Joseph Grubbs that the dog didn't like children or bicycles. So the combination of the two must have seriously triggered it.

Either way, I'm just glad to hear that the boy is safe and sound. That cat literally saved his life. Who knows what could have happened. I don't think I'll ever estimate the bravery of a cat ever again
