Inseparable couple were married 61 years & died just hours apart

Tommy and Bea Greene, a loving couple from North Carolina, were married for 61 years and passed away within hours of each other. Last Friday at 6:50 a.m., Violet "Bea" Greene lost her battle with cancer at the age of 78. Her husband, Thomas Dunlap Greene, received the sad news of his wife's passing while he was in the hospital because the night before he had been admitted for heart failure.

When Tommy was told that his wife had passed, he said that he already knew. Tommy died seven hours after his wife did at the age of 79. Medically, he died of cardiac arrest, but the romantic in me knows his heart just stopped because he wanted to be with his wife. I just know that is what happened because Tommy Greene had always told his family that he couldn't live one day without his wife. And he didn't, he didn't live even one day without her.

When Bea was diagnosed with cancer, a friend asked what her husband would do without her and she responded, "I don't know. I guess I'll just take him with me."

Theirs is one of those beautiful love stories that you see in the movies, but is even more beautiful because you know it's true. They met as teenagers and went through the rest of their lives together hand in hand.

The couple raised 5 children and later had 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. They leave their family and teh rest of us with a beautiful example of commitment. love, and endurance.
