Police often get a bad rap, but this cop did his job incredibly well by saving a suicidal man who intended on jumping in front of a moving train. The heroic effort which occurred in Medellín, Colombia was captured on video seconds before an oncoming train arrived at the station.
The man was two seconds from getting crushed by the train when a fast thinking police officer happened to be at the right place, at the right time and pulls him away. Phew!
Living in a city like New York which has seen lots of deaths caused by train accidents, it was scary to watch this scenario unfold. In the video, the would-be suicide jumper is seen pacing on the platform waiting for the train to arrive. Moments later, an officer appears walking around the same perimeter when the train comes chugging into the station.

In the dramatic footage, you see the man striding towards the edge of the platform just SECONDS before the train has a chance to hit him. The officer who was on the platform almost seems to sense what the man is about to do and his fast reflexes help him grab the man before he gets hit by the train.
You can tell how startled both the man and cop are by what could have happened in that moment as they exchange some words while the man cowers on the platform. The officer then leads him away–hopefully to get him some medical help.
One of my greatest fears is witnessing a suicide jumper when in a train station. Therefore it was a relief to see that this man was saved by this police officer. Clearly he had a guardian angel watching over him, no matter how suicidal he may have been. I'm sure this will make him think twice before trying to take his life again since he was spared this time around. To check out the remarkable rescue, watch the video below. You will be blown away as much as I was!
