Most 8-year-olds have little, if any, concept of money or of what to do with it. But Missouri boy Wyatt Erber is one amazing exception! When the young child won $1,000 after participating in a bank-sponsored scavenger hunt, he immediately knew where to donate his winnings: to his neighbors, whose 2-year-old daughter, Cara, is currently suffering from leukemia.

Cara recently began the 2.5 year treatment process after getting her shocking diagnosis in May. Since then, the family has gotten an outpouring of support from neighbors and friends but Cara's mother, Trisha Kielty, says she was stunned when Erber called her with the news. "He said: 'How much chemo will $1,000 buy Cara?' " Kielty recalled. "I'm completely floored by him. To step up and donate his winnings … is crazy."

Despite receiving tons of praise, the little boy still doesn't seem to realize the enormity of his gesture, insisting that it's no big deal. "I wanted to give it to them," he explained. "I didn't know what to do with it."

Wow, what a truly amazing child! To see an 8-year-old already take such a generous action is so inspiring. And the fact that he is so humble and genuine about the whole thing makes it even more so! Everyone–adults AND kids–can learn something from Erber and his incredible kindness.
