5 Fantastic reasons why EVERYONE should eat blueberries

Blueberries are such a well-loved fruit by many that it's no surprise July is National Blueberry Month. They're a portable snack, an ideal addition to a fruit salad and you reap many health benefits from them. They may be tiny, but they contain antixiodants and have been used since the 1600's as a medical resource by Native Americans.

As if blueberries weren't already good enough for us, there are plenty of other reasons why you should be eating them.

What I love about blueberries is how great they taste on their own or in salads of all types. I've been guilty of eating a whole carton and ignoring calorie count and serving size, because they're good for me afterall, right?

Although I don't recommend eating an ENTIRE carton, you can reap many benefits simply by adding this delicious fruit to your diet everyday. Below are some excellent ways it can help your health!

1. They keep you young: Blueberries are filled with anti-inflammatory components which help reverse aging.

2. They reduce inflammation: Inflammation is dangerous for your arteries, therefore it is important to combat it and prevent it as soon as possible. Blueberries have been proven to fight inflammation which makes it the ideal fruit if you suffer from this condition.

3. Prevents cancer: Blueberries contain anthocyanins which prevent cancer cells from developing. This is especially important to keep in your diet if cancer runs in your family.

4. Helps prevent UTI's: If you are prone to these infections, blueberries should be your go-to remedy. They are known to cleanse the bladder by preventing the bacteria that causes it. 

5. Keeps your immune system strong: The vitamin C and bioflavanoids found in blueberries keep your body's immune system healthy. Therefore make sure you stock up during flu season!
