The way the Honey Diet works is that you substitute all sugar in your food with honey. The secret to this method comes from weight loss research done by  McInnes. He found that by substituting sugar in the diet for honey throughout the day and adding a spoonful to a hot beverage at night suppressed sugar cravings.

McInnes says part of the main reason people fail at dieting is because of their excessive sugar and processed food consumption. These cravings he says are controlled by the brain and the cells in it control the amount of sugar that goes into the brain to protect it from overloading. Although honey is still considered a sugar, McInnes says that because it comes from plant nectar, the body metabolizes it differently. The nighttime honey drink he says helps you sleep better and reduces stress which is important during weight loss.

Studies have even shown that the body responds differently to honey than table sugar and can even lower blood-sugar levels. If you're ready to take on the Honey Diet, then follow these rules:

1. Cut out all processed foods and unrefined foods such as white breads and potatoes. Don't forget to replace all sugar with honey and to drink the hot honey drink every night, 30 minutes before bedtime. Limit to two tablespoons of honey in the beverage to avoid going overboard.

2. One day out of the week eliminate all carbs to prevent insulin levels from rising. When they are high, this causes your body to store fat.

3. Load up on lean protein at every meal which will keep you full.

4. Eat veggies in large quantities and eat two low-carb  fruits such as berries to prevent blood sugar from spiking.

__5. Go for full fat dair__y which keeps you satisfied longer and is more filling.
