Selena Gomez launches cookware line inspired by her Latino heritage & here’s the info

Actor and musician Selena Gomez just launched her first cookware collection and it's absolutely beautiful. Created in collaboration with kitchenware company Our Place, the collection is inspired by her Latino heritage, and it features multiple kitchen items including pots and pans, knives and glassware. It's available in two vibrant colors.

Selena, of course, has been exploring her love of food and cooking on the HBO Max series, Selena + Chef, which came about while she was quarantining at home in 2020, and is set to see its fourth season premiere later in 2022. With the new cookware collection, she's definitely established herself as a bona fide celebrity foodie.

Our Place prioritizes connections and culture.

Selena was evidently quite thoughtful in choosing which company to partner with. Our Place's mission is all about food, family, and culture. "We believe that there is a transformative power in uplifting the differences in how people cook and eat together. Our hope is that telling stories of tradition will bring the disparate edges of our world closer together," reads the mission statement on its website.

The company is immigrant- and woman-owned.

It's also immigrant- and woman-owned, which seems right in line with the priorities Selena who is half Mexican, has expressed over the years. "It’s a celebration of all ways we cook: as beginners or experts, perfectly or imperfectly, messily and joyously. Our Place is immigrant and women-owned, rooted in building a bigger table," she captioned her announcement on Instagram.

It also supports a good cause.

Selena and Our Place also announced that 10% of the profits from the collection will go toward expanding mental health services through the Rare Impact Fund, which Selena is a long-time supporter of.

The collaboration is incredibly mindful.

"We launched Our Place a little over two years ago to inspire more people to reconnect with their heritage, their food systems, and one another by cooking and sharing food. Selena’s work in mental health and her joyful, authentic (and often very funny!) journey to home cooking couldn’t be more reflective of what Our Place stands for," reads the Our Place's statement on Instagram.
