Kim Kardashian explains her extremely weird bathroom sink & confusing light switches

I woke up this morning and checked Instagram almost immediately as I usually do, and in my bleary-eyed sleepiness thought I wasn't seeing things clearly. Kim Kardashian had posted a mini mansion tour to her story, explaining that a lot of her followers had questions about her bathroom sink in particular. I honestly had never even noticed the sink until today, but it is so strange!

I mean, the bathroom as a whole is plain odd. It seriously looks like an unfinished room in a model home. I prefer my place to be homey and cozy, so I'll probably never understand the Kardashian-West design aesthetic, but let's talk about some of the crazy technology and design elements Kim showed off.

First, she explained the sinks, and they are actually functional.

The sinks–yes, there are multiple–in Kim's bathroom basically look like long islands with faucets attached. There are no bowls, and from afar you can't even see where the water drains. But as Kim zooms in, you can see a slit built into the counter below the faucet.

It seems like it would be messy and inconvenient, but it's actually not.

Then Kim actually turns on the faucet to show everyone how well it functions. Though there's no real slope visible, the water drains into the slit immediately, and Kim explains how there is absolutely no splashing. I would have thought the water would splash all over the counter, but it totally doesn't.

While she was already addressing some questions, Kim explained her light switches.

Can you find them? They are unlike anything I've ever seen. It's those three little dots on the wall. They are tiny buttons. One to turn on the light, one to dim it, and one to turn it off.

Is it pretty or just weird?

I really don't know how I feel about the light switches. In her story, Kim talks about how it just looks better than a switch with a box around it, but I don't know…it kind of looks like something that shouldn't be there. The technology is pretty cool, though.

Oh, and Khloé wanted us to see something, too.

Next, we hear that Kim's sister Khloé thinks everyone needs to see her bedroom television–which is actually the coolest part of the whole tour. The massive 130-inch TV is built into the floor and rises up to viewing level at the push of a remote button.

It is completely invisible when not in use.

Though the TV looks totally normal when in use, another press of the button and it descends back into the floor. Kim explains that you can actually walk right over it. Pretty cool!
