Zoe Saldana shares the BEST ever tres leches cake recipe & it’s easier than you think

If there's one thing we all look forward to during the holiday season, it's the desserts! We're a few days away from Thanksgiving and I'm already thinking about pumpkin-flavored flan, dulce de leche treats, and empandas de guava y queso. But there's one dessert that doesn't get enough love during the holidays–and that's tres leches cake. Fortunately for us, Zoe Saldana shared her good friend, Ramses Jimenez's family's recipe on Instagram, and it looks crazy easy to make!

More from MamásLatinas: This mac & cheese is baked, delish & SO easy to make

This recipe is a Dominican version of the traditional tres leches created by Ramses Jimenez's family member, Yolanda. The ingredients include: flour, salt, baking powder, eggs, sugar, milk, vanilla, evaporated milk, condensed milk, and meringue frosting. I was actually surprised at how easy it looks to make.

I also peeped a few tricks Jimenez mentioned to make the process easier. For example, after the cake cools, poke holes into it before the milk was poured in to help it absorb the milk better. Also, the meringue whip went on almost immediately after the cake absorbed the milk to keep it soft and moist. For more check out the video below!
