The homeowner didn't have a need for the room until she opened the door and faced the impressive nest. She immediately called pest control and the elimination process started.

I'm getting goosebumps just looking at it! According to a pest control worker in the area, the nest was more than three feet wide. As a pest expert the man knew the wasps were a problem and couldn't believe the woman didn't notice it before it got out of hand. He tried to convince the homeowner to keep the masterpiece because it was a beautiful nest, but she was only concerned about the vintage quilt on the bed. It was a family heirloom. Dressed in a special suit and armed with tons of bug spray the exterminator conquered the nest and was able to salvage some parts of the quilt.

Wasps are a serious pest, especially if you have children because they might be allergic to the sting. It's best to contact a professional to eliminate them, but there are things you can do if the nest is small and low. Never use a ladder to reach a high nest because you could fall from it if they sting you.

1. Prevention: Check your house in the spring because that's when the queen bee is looking for the perfect spot. Check again in the summer because she already gave birth by that time.

2. Identify your pest: It's important so you can buy the appropriate pesticide. Hornets are the most common and have a white spot on their head. Yellow jackets have thick black antennas and are very aggressive.Paper wasps have long bodies and long legs.

3. Wear protective clothing: Before you start spraying, dress up. Wear long boots, a turtleneck, a scarf to wrap your head and ears and wear glasses.

4. To exterminate: Make sure to tackle the task at night because that's when the wasps are less active. Also plan for the children and pets to leave the house so they won't be exposed to the bug spray and flying wasps.

Fortunately, no one was hurt and the homeowner in this case reclaimed her spare room. I'm sure writers and independent filmmakers will get inspired about this home invasion and write similar stories. I just hope they don't decide to replace the wasps with spiders or snakes!
