Recall alert: Hummus & walnuts pulled from stores because of potentially fatal contamination

Mamás, I really want you to know about know about voluntary recalls that has been issued by two companies, one is for walnuts and the other is for hummus dips. Both the walnuts and hummus dips could be potentially contaminated with listeria.

Listeria is dangerous stuff and can even be deadly. It can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. It's also very scary for pregnant women because it can lead to miscarriage or stillbirths. This stuff is no joke and needs to be taken seriously.

As for the hummus recall, which is the one that really got my attention because my kids and I eat hummus ALL the time, it was issued by Lansal Inc. and affects hummus dips sold at Target, Trader Joes and other retailers.
